R100 Workout CHALLENGE

Looking for a great way to stay motivated and stick to your fitness goals this year? Sign up for the R100 Workout Challenge and commit to completing 100 workouts this school year. Commit to fit and sign the R100 commitment board in September outside the Hangar.

One 30-minute workout or activity will count toward your goal of 100 workouts. You must check in at the Customer Service desk or Hangar desk for your workout, intramural sport, or open gym to qualify for your daily activity.

Please note: Only one workout per day will count.

Milestone prizes will be awarded throughout the year including challenges and activities.

Date: Challenge begins on September 1, 2022 and ends April 7, 2023.

Join the MoveUCrew for campus walks this fall on Wednesdays twice a month! Each walk will have a fun theme.

Exam Jam

Join us this September for the midterm Exam Jam! We know that midterm season can be a difficult time. It’s hard not to get anxious, overwhelmed, and stressed – but have no fear, Exam Jam is here! This event is aimed to help you de-stress during this stressful time.

Check in at the Customer Service desk in the Lower Hangar to get your Class Pass.

Workout buddies

The Workout Buddies Program is a 4-week introductory physical activity program where students can make friends and participate in a variety of activities with UBCO Recreation to help incorporate movement into their daily routine.

Participants will be introduced to strategies to be more physically active in their daily life, learn ways to improve wellbeing through movement, participating in group fitness classes, workouts in the hangar, campus walks, and more! Participants will receive mentorship from physical activity coaches.

Dates: September 26 – October 20

Cost: $20

  • Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a $20 credit towards purchasing UBCO Gym memberships, fitness classes, or Recreation events and programs.

Trauma-informed Instructor training

Become trauma-informed as a Yoga / Fitness Instructor.

Creating safety to access movement through a trauma-informed lens is the goal of this workshop.

Being trauma-informed is rooted in safety, trust, choice, and control, as well as prioritizing and empowering the lived experience of every student. Through this workshop, you will develop an understanding of trauma, learn about the prevalence of trauma, and understand how it can manifest in the body and mind of your students.

Join UBCO Recreation in partnership with UBCO Workplace Health and Wellbeing (HR) at our Celebration Station during GoByBike Week this October to enjoy:

Yoga Instructor Leading Yoga Class in Dark Class with Glow in the Dark Clothing

2022 Glow with the flow yoga

Join us for the return of Glow with the Flow Yoga in the Gymnasium this November.

Doors open at 7:30pm – Come early and get your glow on! Glow sticks and body paint available. Bring a mat if you have one and join us with a live DJ (John Byrne) and UBCO Yoga Instructor Josee for a glow in the dark, yoga dance party!
