latin Rhythms dance lessons

Join us for Latin Rhythms Dance with UBCO Recreation. This term we are offering two classes:

  • Level 1 – Latin Rhythms Dance Lessons
  • NEW this winter, Level 2 – Partner Dance!  Grab a partner and register together.

Join Recreation for a 5-week session of kickboxing classes at the UBCO Hangar Fitness Centre. Only $40 for five sessions! Learn a new skill while working up a sweat with this exciting sport! There are limited spots available, so sign up today!

R100 Workout CHALLENGE

Looking for a great way to stay motivated and stick to your fitness goals this year? Sign up for the R100 Workout Challenge and commit to completing 100 workouts this school year. Register now and we will credit you for your workouts from September 2022 onward! 

One 30-minute workout or activity will count toward your goal of 100 workouts. You must check in at the Customer Service desk or Hangar desk for your workout, intramural sport, or open gym to qualify for your daily activity.

Please note: Only one workout per day will count.

Milestone prizes will be awarded throughout the year including challenges and activities.

Date: Challenge ends April 7, 2023.

Cost: $5




Get Active 101

Get Active 101 is a 4-week introductory physical activity program where students can make friends and participate in a variety of activities with UBCO Recreation to help incorporate movement into their daily routine.

Participants will be introduced to strategies to be more physically active in their daily life, learn ways to improve wellbeing through movement, participating in group fitness classes, workouts in the hangar, campus walks, and more! Participants will receive mentorship from physical activity coaches.

Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays, January 23 – February 15

Time: Mondays at 6:00pm and Wednesdays at 5:00pm

Location: Hangar Fitness Centre, UBCO Recreation

Cost: $20

  • Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a $20 credit towards purchasing UBCO Gym memberships, fitness class, or Recreation events and programs.





CFES Group fitness course

Want to become a Group Fitness Instructor? Now is your chance! This course teaches the practical skills and professional ethics required to be a successful group fitness instructor.

Dates: January 29, February 4, 5, 11 & 12

Times: 12:00-5:00pm

CFES Spin Instructor course

This workshop is for group fitness instructors ready to expand their portfolio. Bring your knowledge of teaching group fitness and we will apply it to teaching a spin class.

Glow run with rec

Join UBCO Recreation for a Glow Run and help us celebrate the kick-off of Move UBC Month.

Register online and meet us outside the Hangar Fitness Centre for a 3 km run/walk on campus. You will be provided with glow sticks and fun at the start of the race.
