Stand-up Paddle Boarding
UBCO Recreation has partnered with Kelowna Paddle Centre (3020 Abbot Street, Kelowna) to provide Stand-Up Paddle Boarding lessons this fall. Come and enjoy a relaxing night on Okanagan Lake.
You can register for one or multiple sessions.

Introduction to Rock Climbing
Learn to climb with 4 fun-filled nights at Beyond the Crux Climbing Gym (658 Finns Road #5, Kelowna). Each lesson will be 1.5 hour sessions.
The class includes rental equipment and instruction by certified climbing instructors. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the climbing gym.
Thursday lessons: Sept 24, Oct 1, 8 & 15.
UBCO Mini-Golf Evening
Join UBC Recreation as we host our first Mini-Golf night at 19 Greens. Register your group of 4 golfers for a fun night of mini-golf. You and your group will have a great time golfing outdoors, overlooking Okanagan Lake. This is an 18-hole carpet mini golf course.
Located in West Kelowna, across the bridge from downtown Kelowna.
Saturday, Sept 26th at 6:00-7:00pm
Registration fee: $10.00 per person
Lunch & Lift Workshop Series
Lunch & Lift is a series of free 2-in-1 interactive wellbeing workshops consisting of a 30-minute movement class, followed by a 30-minute interactive wellbeing session facilitated by a UBC wellbeing professional.
This session covers all things self-care! With the start of the term, we know how overwhelming it can be, so set aside some time and join us to find out some tips and tricks to help support your wellbeing. This workshop will consist of a 30-minute fitness class led by a UBC Recreation Instructor, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session Miranda Massie from UBC HR!
Location: Zoom. A unique Zoom link will be sent out by email a few days before the event to all registered participants.
Move More, Learn More
Move More, Learn More is an 8-week program designed for Asian Women students who want to improve their health and fitness. This eight-week program includes two scheduled weekly sessions, with a different health learning topic or private group physical activity each session.
- When: Every Monday and Wednesday
- Dates: October 5th to November 25th, 2020 (no session on the holidays October 12th and November 11th)
- Time: 5:00 – 5:55 pm
- All the sessions will be delivered online using Zoom.
- Cost: $25 per person includes all sessions, prizes, and perks
- Private learning and physical activity sessions
- Additional drop-in pass to one weekly online fitness class
