Virtual Run with Rec


Virtual Run/walk with Rec is back!

Enjoy the outdoors and our Virtual Run with Rec! Choose from five different distances to complete over the course of the week: 3km, 5km, 10km, 21km, or 42km.

Sign-up online and simply choose your own starting line, whether its inside on a treadmill or outside! You can complete this run in multiple parts or all at once.

Put on your running shoes and set off on the course of your choosing. Share your achievements with your friends and tag us @ubco_recreation!

The dates to complete this race are June 28-July 4.

Golf Lessons

Golf lessons at the Okanagan Golf Club all offered summer long!

Group lessons are a great way to learn all aspects of the game with your friends in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.  This is open to students, staff & faculty and family.

Group lessons include four, 1-hour lessons.

  • Session 3: June 14, June 21, June 28 & July 5
  • Session 4: July 12, July 19, July 26 & August 2
  • Session 5: August 9, August 16, August 23 & August 30
  • Session 6: Sept 6, Sept 13, Sept 20, Sept 27

Start time: 6:00pm-7:00pm or 7:15pm-8:15pm


Student Lesson Package: $79.00

Staff Lesson Package: $99.00

10 km running program

run with rachel is back!

Join Rachel Garrett, former Heat Cross Country Athlete for a 5-week long ‘virtual’ 10 km training program starting May 31st for only $10!

You will have a group call with Rachel at the beginning of the program where she will outline the training for the program, followed by optional weekly check-in meetings every Monday night. The check-in meetings will cover important running topics that will help with your technique, cross-training, nutrition, recovery, and injury prevention!

The goal is to have you completing a 10km Run with Rec the week of June 28 – July 4th!

Stand up paddleboarding lessons

Join UBCO Recreation and Kelowna Paddle Centre for 3 lessons of paddle boarding lessons!

Each lesson takes place on Sunday from 1:00pm – 2:30pm.

Session 3: July 11, 18, and 25

Session 4: August 8, 15, and 22

Session 5: September 12, 19, and 26

Cost: $45.00 for students; $65.00 for staff


Note: Participants are responsible for transportation to and from the Kelowna Paddle Centre on Abbot Street.
