Intercultural Sports Series
UBCO Recreation with SUO Clubs and community partners are teaming up to offer a series of cultural sport events that welcome domestic and international students to participate in and learn about intercultural sports. Students will be able to individually register for as many events as they wish to learn the foundational skills of these sports while having fun with their friends and creating new ones.
Walk for Joy
Are you looking for a fun way to get moving this year? Join Walk for Joy, a free 9-week walking and rolling challenge starting in February!
Participate on a team of up to five and keep track of your steps each week for great prizes and a spot at the top of the weekly leaderboard! This challenge promotes getting active while being social, so get moving with a friend and get bonus “social steps”!
Women’s Workout Wednesdays
Join the Girls Who Lift club and other women (gender queer and trans welcome) in Studio 2 for an inclusive workout space where you can exercise independently with the support of peers. No registration necessary. Membership or drop in required.

Pride yoga
Come join UBCO Recreation for a fun, pride themed free 60 minute yoga class in Studio 1. New to yoga? First time visiting the Hangar? Have no fear – yoga embraces individualized movement so you are able to relax or push yourself while listening to some queer artists. This themed yoga class is free, and open to Students, Staff and Faculty in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community as an offering of Pride Programming.
Bright workout clothes and water bottles encouraged! No experience or equipment necessary. Yoga mats will be supplied.

Salsa and Bachata
Join us for Salsa & Bachata Lessons with Carlos.

kickboxing
Join us for a 5-week session of kickboxing classes at the UBC Okanagan Gymnasium with Mikael.
Registration is just $55 for 5 weekly classes. This price can’t be beat and is only available when purchased in advance through UBCO Recreation. There are limited spots available so sign up today!
