UBC Okanagan is a proud participant of Bike to Work and School Week in the Central Okanagan, offered in partnership with Go by Bike BC and the SmartTRIPS active transportation program.
Why participate
As noted on the SmartTRIPS website: Bike to Work [week] encourages employees to create workplace teams and log their cycling commutes to win prizes and compete against other local organizations. Each day there is a Celebration Station around the Central Okanagan providing free tune ups, snacks, and prizes to commuters travelling to and from work.
While UBC Okanagan is not hosting a celebration station, we will be hosting a satellite station (which still includes free tune ups, snacks, and prizes).
For the full event schedule of celebration and satellite stations throughout the Central Okanagan for Bike to Work Week, visit the SmartTRIPS event schedule.
Register for Bike to Work Week
Visit the registration page on Go by Bike BC. Search for “UBC Okanagan” teams to join an existing or create a new team for your office, department, building, or group. Cyclists are welcome and encouraged to create multiple Bike to Work Week teams across campus. Challenging other departments is also encouraged (largest number of riders, longest distance cycled, most total kilometers per team).
